Summer 2024 Internship: Research & Development Application

Position Location: Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA

We are seeking highly motivated, mobile-minded students who are ready to take their careers to the next level with our summer internship program. Sasol provides invaluable hands-on experience within your field of expertise.

Internship Responsibilities:

The selected candidates will perform the following:

• Perform directed experiments under the supervision of senior scientists on industrially relevant projects
• Analyze products/processes using various instrumentation and equipment
• Document and report findings

Requirements:

• Must be classified as a Junior or Senior in college
• Students having declared Chemistry (or related field) and completed their sophomore year by summer 2024
• Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
• Previous laboratory experience preferred
• The hours of work are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
• Internship duration is approximately 8–10 weeks
• Paid housing will be provided if students living 50 miles or further from Lake Charles (Spouses and pets not allowed)
• Participation in Sasol’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiatives
• Interns will be required to write a final research report and make a 20-minute presentation of his or her final work to their perspective department at the end of the summer
• Internships include safety orientation and training, laboratory work and guidance from a senior scientist on an actual industrial research project related to Sasol’s products and technology and critical analysis of results
